1988 325is ??Which ECU is in my car??

I am new to this site. I just purchased a 1988 325is. I am wondering what ECU is in my car and does anybody know how to read a blinking check engine light. I know on 89 and new models that the sequence of the blinking check light will give you the code, but I am believe my year is a different ECU so I'm assume these codes don't apply. Any help?

The 88 - 91 "i" engine ecu units use the same codes.

One blink - Aif Flow Sensor malfuunction
Two blinks - Oxygen sensor malfunction or sensor parameters exceeded
Three blinks - Coolant Temperature sensor malfunction
Four blinks - Throttle switch malfunction
