interior lighting

I have been trying hard to find a solution to the bad lighting inside the e30, not being able to look through a cd binder. I know there is a rearview mirror with dual maplights out there..but anyone know how you wire that into a 325 (non i) model? I'm guessing its just a single + lead and the metal ground. If anyone knows if this maplight mirror can be made to work in a 325e would appreciate some advice.

I think the rear view mirror you are referring to is the one from the 325i convertible.

I obtained one from a salvaged e30 M3, easy install.

I've put one on mine, it was from an m3, but I did the wiring all the way to the dome light , without knowing you could get power from the obc panel and have it light up only when the key is in on.... not much to it, but make sure you take out the little panel behind the obc, it'll make the instalation of the mirror a lot easier... And it sure helps a lot...

Thanks for all your replies. I guess I'll start looking on ebay for one of the rearview mirrors with the map lights, I needed to replace the mirror anyway the glue is oozing out of the edges..I hope the wiring isnt too complicated.
