Passenger side A/C not blowing cold

Driver's side vents blow cold, but passenger side blows ambient temperature. Anybody here run into this before? Any ideas on a cause? I have adjusted the blending dial in between the center vents but it doesn't change anything.

My 2000 323CI is also doing the same thing.

I also have a 2000 323i with the same problem. I have had the fan clutch and tensioners replaced, but the only thing that seems to help is adding refrigerant. It works properly for a few months, and then the same problem occurs again. Drivers side stays cool, but the passenger side just blows air. My mechanic could not find any refrigerant leaks, and I would love to find out why this is happening.
