Was at starbucks this morning. Car pulls into the space directly across from me and stops. Since it stopped, I started backing out to leave. All of a sudden, jerkoff starts backing up again (apparently to correct his horrible parking) and doesn't look back and I guess he doesn't see me. I'm directly behind this idiot and I see his face in his rear view mirror so I know he can see me. Anyways, I lean on the horn for like 30 seconds as he keeps backing up towards me. Once, he stopped for a fraction of a second before continuing toward me. I swear, I think I was on the horn for like a full minute before the dumbass finally looked in his mirror and saw me.

Sorry, just had to vent.

what ticks me off are those that freak out when i am trying to make a maneuver and i am getting real close to their car and they lay on the horn like you do.... CHILL!!!! I got this under control! i mean, i would be honking too if i couldnt tell that the other person might not be looking, but this is when im staring them in the face.

I also always look, similar situation happened to me at Costco awhile back. I had to pull back in to prevent this old lady from hitting me.

hell yeah, i know what you are saying. i also understand what codex is saying 'cause not everyone can drive.

argh. too many idiots. it's too freakin easy to get a license in this country. Thank god I had only pulled back like 3 feet from my space. Moron used like 20 feet backing up. I've been in that maxima before. There's no way that numbnut didn't hear my horn.

Why on earth would you bother to look behind you when backing up? Why bother! And parking lots were meant for cruising! I park really far into the space so old ladies can hit my bumber and then know it's time to put the Olds in PARK. And don't forget to park very closely to the car next to you!
And I always drive 2MPH lower than the speed limit in the fast lane, and slow to 45mph if I see a trooper with a car pulled over.
You guys must be nuts! Hell! I stop on yellow lights just in case!
You guys seem to find a perverse pleasure in just driving at your best for the hell of it! There is more to driving than doing it well and enjoying it!!

I even check blind spots!
I'll never forget the old lady who scraped my Miata while I was closing door and was dodging her while waving her away!
She got out of the car never realising what happened! (you don't want to know what I said!!)
I give up. You can park a million miles away and have a shit box loaded with cans, no 4 tires matching and (well you get the picture) and you just shake your head and ask if you are some kind of magnet?
Don't get me going on shopping carts!

I always look, but it's a little tricky in my car since the window is clouded. Luckily I got it clear enough that I can see the cars and people behind my car and my side mirrors are positioned so I can see the back through those as well...[thumb]

speaking of it being easy to get a drivers liscense here.... its not that much better in europe. they might have better spacial ability and able to drive "better", (and even though its hard as hell to get a drivers liscense there) but id say they are worser drivers than americans, they are just nuts and sometimes dumb nuts.... then again, i am not speaking for the new yorkers. im an atlantian bmw driver, i always thought it so typical of my style and location.

Well, here in SoCal, the LA Times regularly publishes reports of "interesting" drivers seen on our freeways. These have included a lady putting on makeup, a guy checking e-mail on a PDA with one hand and dialing on a cell phone with another, etc. Somehow I suspect our "special" drivers here aren't seen quite as commonly in other parts of the STates.

Some of my personal favorites that I've seen:
- A plumber brushing his teeth
- A lady holding a plate of food up to her face with one hand and holding the fork with the other hand
- Someone in a minivan on the highway driving with one hand and one foot dangling out the window as they were extended back in their seat screaming along to music

Anyone else have good ones?
